The College
is currently reviewing its programs in line with the New Victorian
Essential Learning Standards.
This
new framework has three interwoven purposes to equip students with the
capacity to:
- Manage themselves and their relations with others
- Understand the world
- Act effectively in that world.
This
is achieved through the three core, interrelated strands of
- Physical, Personal and Social Learning
- Discipline based Learning
- Interdisciplinary Learning
We will endeavor to improve quality relationships and student
motivation by:
- Developing a greater sense of community amongst
students.
- Nurturing resilience in students.
- Reducing emphases on teacher as authority.
- Maintaining positive home-school links.
- Respecting, affirming and getting to know students
better.
- Providing positive role modeling.
- Seeking mastery of skills and subject matter to the best of
each student’s ability.
Delivering
a greater number of subjects in core homeroom classes for the duration of
the full calendar year.
